Aaron Whitman, Alex Bean (Westbrook), Brady Wintle (Gorham), and Dante Tocci (Portland) each had two RBI on Wednesday as top seeded Southern Maine Community College baseball rolled to a 14-0 five inning mercy rule win over the University of Maine at Augusta in a quarterfinal game of the Yankee Small College Conference playoffs at Old Orchard Beach.
Garrett McLeod (Hampden Academy) picked up the win on the mound going the first 3.0 innings allowing just one hit with one walk and two strikeouts. Zach Oliver pitched a perfect final 2.0 innings for SMCC with four strikeouts. The Seawolves (22-11) will take on CMCC on Thursday at 4:30 in the second round. David Jinks had the lone hit for the Moose, as UMA (10-20) will face York County Community College in an elimination game Thursday at 2 p.m.
