Boston Celtics star power forward Jayson Tatum underwent surgery on Tuesday for a ruptured right achilles tendon suffered in a Game 4 second round loss in New York against the Knicks on Monday night.
Tatum will have a full recovery, and while no timetable is set for his return he will miss the rest of the playoffs and is in danger of also missing the entire 2025-26 season.
Boston is trailing NY 3-1 in the best of seven series, and will try to stave off elimination on Wednesday night at TD Garden.
