Husson softball eliminated at the NCAA Regionals in Minnesota

The Husson University softball team had their 2025 season come to an end on Friday afternoon. The Eagles fell to DePauw University (Indiana) 3-0 in an elimination contest at the NCAA Division III Regionals at SMU Field in Winona, Minnesota.

The Tigers scored all the runs they needed in the of the first inning against Eagles starter Sky Johnson. DePauw (25-15) took advantage of an error, had three hits, and stole three bases in their first at bat. Katie Mathies and Riley Heim had the runs driven in, while the third runner scored unearned. Freshman Izzy Deveau (5-2) took care of the rest in the circle to pick up the win as she fired a complete game shutout allowing just three hits with one walk and one strikeout. Camryn King (Nokomis), Julia Gregiore (Massabesic), and Morgan Tainter had the hits for Husson. Johnson (14-5) gave up two earned runs on six hits with six strikeouts in a complete game loss. The Eagles final season record is 27-12, which included their seventh straight North Atlantic Conference Championship. DePauw also had their season end on Friday, as they fell in a second elimination game vs Simpson College (Iowa). Simpson College (33-8) faces host Saint Mary’s of Minnesota (41-3) in the championship round on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals have won 31 games in a row and need just one more victory to capture the regional championship.
