Colby College is headed to the NCAA Division III Women’s Lacrosse Final Four for the first time in program history.
The Mules (17-3) have defeated Endicott College (17-1), #17 Stevens (17-6), and #7 Wesleyan (7-6) so far in the NCAA Tournament. They will face the #1 team in the country and defending national champion Middlebury College (19-1) in the semifinals of the Final Four on Friday at 4 p.m. at Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia. Colby lost a tight NESCAC battle with the Panthers of Middlebury 12-11 in the regular season in Waterville. #2 Tufts University (20-1) and #5 Gettysburg College (19-3) meet in the other semifinal on Friday at 7 p.m. with the national title game set for Sunday at 12 p.m.
Colby has four players that have notched at least 30 points this season, led by senior Julia Jardina who has 66 goals and 10 assists. Senior Jillian Kane has started 19 of the 20 games in net and has a record of 15-3.
