Merin Rhodes scored on an error in the bottom of the fifth inning on Wednesday afternoon, propelling Mattanawcook Academy to a 3-2 softball win over Houlton/Greater Houlton Christian.
Kalista Lazo and Addison Cyr each had two hits and one RBI to power the Lynx offense. Julianna Clukey was solid in the circle, firing a complete game by allowing just one earned run on six hits with two walks and 14 strikeouts. Six different Shires had one hit a piece, while Keegan Brown had a RBI. Amelia Matwyko suffered the pitching loss as she allowed three runs (one earned) on seven hits, with nine walks and nine strikeouts in 6.0 innings.
