Dexter softball wins two games on Thursday

Dexter softball held off Penquis for a 4-3 win on Thursday afternoon. The Tigers held a 4-1 lead, the Patriots scored two in the seventh inning before Kallie Stone struck out the final batter to help Dexter escape with the victory.

Stone had two RBI, while Desiree Adams had two hits. Stone allowed three runs (two earned) on 10 hits and two walks, while striking out 10. Makayla Cook, Adalai Perkins, Brooklyn Decker, and Kalea Gahagan had two hits each for the Patriots.

The win was the second of the day for Dexter. They defeated PCHS 15-0 earlier in the day. Kayleigh Dunton had two hits, three runs scored, and three RBI to lead the offense. Abigail Trafton and Stone had two hits each. Trafton, Adams, and Stone scored two runs each. Maddisyn Davis had two RBI, while Raelynn Anderson stole two bases. Stone allowed one hit and two walks with six strikeouts.
