Bodie Bishop had a game winning two-run single in the bottom of the sixth inning, and pitched a complete game one-hitter on the mound to lead Hampden Academy to a 3-1 Class A baseball win over Brewer on Friday night at Mike Bordick Park.
Kaysen Wildman gave the Broncos (9-6) an early lead with a first inning RBI single, before the Witches tied it up on a bases loaded walk by Ayden Barnard in the second. The game winner in the sixth was set up by a one out error that allowed Wildman to reach second base, and then back to back batters were hit by a pitch to load the bases. Bishop helped his own cause with his two-run single that provided the difference. Wildman led Hampden with two hits, one RBI, and one run scored. Bishop allowed just one hit in his complete game effort, walking six and striking out 10. Parker Bouchard had the lone hit for Brewer (7-8). Zach Arnold suffered the pitching loss in relief giving up two runs on two hits with one walk in 2.1 innings.
