Sara Young pitched a complete game, and had the go-ahead RBI single in the 10th inning on Friday night at Hampden Academy as the Brewer softball team knocked off the Broncos 6-5.
The Witches (11-4) had built a 4-1 lead into the sixth, but the Broncos came storming back to tie in the last half of that frame. Kiera Gabric scored on a fielders choice, Mariah Coon beat out a throw at home with the bases loaded, and Piper Parker hit a RBI single to left to tie it 4-4. The score stayed the same into extra innings. In the 10th, Brewer scored twice on the Young single and then another single by Olivia Gilmore that was the eventual game winner. Hampden (8-7) got back within a run in their last chance in the last of the 10th on a Cat Facchini single, and had runners on second and third with two outs but Young struckout Parker swinging to end it.

In the circle, Young allowed one earned run on 10 hits with no walks and 11 strikeouts. Gabric had four hits for the Broncos, while Facchini had three knocks to go along with two RBI.
