Bangor Christian baseball picks up 13th win, rallying past Stearns

In one of the only games in the area on Saturday afternoon due to the weather, the Bangor Christian baseball team rallied from deficits of 4-0 and 5-2 to beat Stearns 11-6 in a Class D matchup played in Bangor.

The Patriots (13-1) scored three in the fifth inning to tie it 5-5, and then scored six more in the sixth to pull away. Cole Payne tied it with a single to score Jon Benjamin, and Blaze Morris came across to score on an error to provide the game winning run in that big sixth frame for the hosts. Payne, Benjamin, Drake Nash, and Jeremiah Dorr all had two hits a piece. Payne and Benjamin each had three RBI. Payne, Nash, and Gabe Gahagan scored twice. Morris got the victory on the mound allowing six runs (just one earned) on three hits with three walks and 14 strikeouts in 6.1 innings. Emerson Michaud led the Minutemen (7-8) with two hits and two RBI, while he also suffered the loss on the hill in relief. Starter Owen Wilson gave up two earned runs with eight walks and nine strikeouts over the first 4.1 innings.
