Foxcroft baseball claims #1 seed in Class C in shutting out MA in regular season finale

Foxcroft Academy clinched the top seed in Class C North on Thursday afternoon, with a 13-0 five inning victory over Mattanawcook in a regular season baseball finale played in Lincoln.

The Ponies lit up the scoreboard, and got a gem of a pitching performance from Hayden Strout to end the regular season at 14-2. Thomas Day and Calvin Landry both had three hits and three RBI, and Day scored three runs. Along with his strong effort on the mound, Strout went 3-4 at the plate including a triple that also included a RBI and three runs scored. Josh Knapp added two hits, two RBI, and scored twice. Foxcroft hit five doubles and stole five bases. Day hit two of those doubles and swiped two bags. Strout allowed just two hits and one walk with 11 strikeouts on the hill. True Weatherbee and Bradly Dill had the hits for the Lynx, while James Trott suffered the pitching loss giving up eight runs on eight hits in 3.1 innings. Mattanawcook loses their first game of the season, and finishes 15-1 and at #3 in Class C.
