Forest Hills softball gets prelim win over PCHS

Janessa Moffitt reached base three times including one double, one triple, three runs scored, and one RBI to lead Forest Hills to a 10-7 win over Piscataquis Community High School (PCHS) in a Class D South softball prelim game played at Jackman on Monday afternoon.

Kaira Veilleux had two hits and two runs scored. Kelsey Rancourt had two RBI, while Emma Vining scored two runs. Moffitt got the win in the circle, she allowed seven runs on 12 hits, didn’t issue a walk and struck out 11. Forest Hills (8-9) will play at top seed Buckfield in a quarterfinal game on Thursday.

Breelyn Gaw led the Pirates offense, going 4-4 with a double and one RBI. Emery-Jo Chambers had three hits and two RBI. Reese Starbird had two RBI, while Ava Edes scored two runs. PCHS finishes their season with a 4-13 record.
