Paidyn Cashman had three hits and four RBI on Thursday afternoon, in helping to lead #3 Narraguagus to a 12-4 Class C quarterfinal softball win over Central in a game played in Harrington.
The Knights jumped out to a 6-0 lead after three innings and never looked back in advancing to the semifinals on Saturday. Kaitlyn Grant and Natalie Stanwood both added a hit and a RBI each. Grant and Kylei Lamson both scored three runs, while Madeline Chipman and Kelsey Beal came across to score twice. Stanwood pitched a complete game in the circle allowing four runs on three hits with seven walks and 13 strikeouts. Gabrielle Dickinson drove in three runs for the #6 Red Devils, and Madelyn Cox scored twice. Mackenzie Graham took the loss in the circle giving up 10 runs (four earned) on four hits with 10 walks and nine strikeouts in 5.0 innings. Central ends their season with a record of 9-8. Narraguagus is now 13-2 and will travel to #2 Mattanawcook Academy on Saturday for the semifinals with a time to be announced.
