BOSTON – Freshman distance runner Ruth White (Orono, Maine) of the University of New Hampshire women’s track and field team has been named the 2025 Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Performer of the Year. This award started in 2024 and White is the first Wildcat to earn this recognition.
White had a stellar rookie season as she placed ninth in the 10,000 meter run at the NCAA Track & Field Outdoor Championships to earn Second Team All-America accolades on June 12. Her time of 32:20.60 shattered her own school record set at the NCAA East First Round by 29.43 seconds, and she also broke the Women’s American Junior (U20) Outdoor record, pending ratification by USATF.
