Gavin Haggett struck out 10 and allowed only one run on five hits in 6 innings plus went 3-3 and reached base four times with the bat in leading Biddeford to a 2-1 regional final win over Thornton. Had two hits and three RBI in 7-6 state championship win over Mt. Ararat.
Haggett finished 340 votes ahead of Sam Schultz (Monmouth). Haggett is the first student/athlete from Biddeford High School to earn athlete of the week honors. Full results are below.
