Giulianna Gianino scored a pair of first half goals on Sunday afternoon, in leading Boston University to a 3-1 non-conference women’s soccer victory over Maine at Mahaney Diamond in Orono.
Sophomore Emma Nicholson scored in the 76th minute for the lone Black Bears tally on a Grace Johnson assist, her first career goal. Margy Porta had the third goal for the Terriers out of the Patriot League, as they improved their record to 2-1. Grace Wilson made three saves on six shots in net on the afternoon for Maine, who drops to 0-2. The Black Bears have two road games next week, at Merrimack on Thursday at 4 p.m. and at Army at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
