Husson Field Hockey drops season opener to Skidmore College

The Husson Field Hockey Team dropped their season opener on Saturday afternoon, falling to Skidmore College (NY) 7-2 in a game played at Thomas College in Waterville.

The Thoroughbreds jumped out to a 5-0 halftime lead and never looked back as they moved their early season record to 2-0. Skidmore was led by Abby Ezickson and Erin Ohlenbusch who had two goals each. Mia Angwin added one goal and two assists, while Ella Costa also chipped in two helpers on the afternoon. The Eagles only had two shots on goal, with both of them finding the back of the cage from senior Maddie Perkins (Winthrop High). Freshman Ella Duchette (Brunswick) stopped three shots in net. Husson will return to action on Saturday, September 13th when they play on the road at Bates College at 12 p.m. The home opener is the following day (Sept. 14) at 1 p.m. vs Colby.
