DOVER-FOXCROFT- Evan Seavey passed for three touchdowns on Friday night, two of them to Lucas Sands as Foxcroft Academy blanked Old Town 35-0 in their homecoming football game at Oakes Field.
Sands (5 catches, 140 yards) caught both of his touchdowns for the only points of the first half, including a 67-yarder on the first play of the game. He reeled in a 52-yard scoring reception in the final 30 seconds of the second quarter. The Ponies (2-1) took over in the second half as they got an interception return of 28-yards for a score from Simon Turzik, and a Seavey 25-yard TD pass to Aiden Sickler in the third quarter. A 52-yard scoring run by Turzik finished the scoring in the fourth.
Seavey finished 12-17 passing for 192 yards and three touchdowns. Turzik and Sands both had an interception for the Foxcroft defense, while Finn Holmes and Landon Smith led the team in tackles in holding the Old Town (0-3) offense to less than 50 net yards. Both teams are back at it next week as the Coyotes host MCI Friday night, and the Ponies play York in a neutral site game Saturday afternoon in Dover, New Hampshire.
