The Husson University men’s and women’s soccer teams opened up North Atlantic Conference play on Saturday afternoon by hosting Lesley University at Boucher Field in Bangor.
In the women’s game- Jacquie Pangburn (John Bapst) scored in the 54th minute for Husson, as the Eagles would end up tying Lesley University 1-1. Addie Laslie (Ellsworth) and Thea Gerfen had an assist on the Pangburn goal. Madison Weigler made four saves in net, as Hussons record goes to 3-2-1 (0-0-1 in the NAC). They will take on Bowdoin on the road Wednesday night in non-conference action.
In the men’s game- Husson got off a fast start and dominated the Lynx for their first win of the season by a score of 7-0. Cesar Soucre scored 4:45 into the match for the only goal that was needed. Miguel Diaz Alvarez led the way for the Eagles with two goals and an assist. Rique Mendez and Soucre each had a goal and an assist, while Jakob Reichle, Tighe Hrabchak, and Davide Panci also put in one goal a piece. The shots attempted in the game were 26-2 Husson (15-0 on goal). The Eagles are now 1-5-2 (1-0-0 in the NAC) and also move back into non-conference action when they play at UNE Wednesday night.
