The UMaine-Augusta baseball team picked up their first two wins of the fall schedule by sweeping a doubleheader over Kent-St.-Tuscarawas (Ohio) in Portsmouth, New Hampshire on Sunday afternoon. The Moose softball team remained unbeaten when they swept two from Southern Maine Community College on Friday in Augusta.
In the baseball games- UMA used a six run third inning to take the first contest 15-8. Matt Donley had four RBI, while Zach Fair and Davis Kibler knocked in three each. Dominick Morey picked up the victory on the mound in relief. In game two, the Moose scored four runs in the fifth and five more in the sixth to complete the sweep 10-2. Cash Bizier had four knocked in, including the go-ahead RBI double. Amar Douidi picked up the win on the hill allowing two runs on six hits with no walks and four strikeouts in the complete 7.0 inning effort. UMA is now 2-6 and will play a single nine inning game at SMCC on Friday at 3 p.m.
In the softball games- Arabel Linkletter had two RBI, and Addison McCormick pitched a complete game five-hitter in the circle as UMA took game one over SMCC 5-2. McCormick allowed just one earned run, while walking four and striking out one. McCormick also added an RBI hit. In the second contest, the Moose erupted for an eight run fourth inning and would mercy rule the Seawolves 10-1 in five frames. Annabelle Morris, Natalie Gilman, and McCormick had two RBI each. Shannah Parsons went the full 5.0 innings in the circle giving up one run on four hits with one walk and five strikeouts. UMA is now 6-0 and will play another doubleheader with SMCC on the road this time on Friday beginning at 3 p.m.
