Husson Field Hockey shuts out UMF in conference opener

At Farmington on Tuesday, the Husson Field Hockey Team got a first half game winning goal from Lauryn Brown (Orono High School) and would blank UMaine-Farmington in their conference opener 2-0.

The senior forward Brown scored late in the second quarter at 26:55 on an assist from Brianna Smith (Gardiner) for her first goal of the season. Ruby Kitchin (MCI) added a second goal in the third off a penalty corner with assists going to Tessa Capozzoli and Faith Tillotson (Thornton). Ella Duchette (Brunswick) made six saves in net to pick up the shutout. The Eagles improve to 2-4 overall (1-0 in the Central Maine Collegiate Field Hockey Conference). Husson will dip back into non-conference play on the road when they visit Keene State College on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
