Husson men’s, women’s soccer sweeps the conference weekend by defeating VSU-Johnson

The Husson University men’s and women’s soccer teams both finished the weekend 2-0 after beating Vermont State University-Johnson in North Atlantic Conference games on Sunday afternoon.

At Boucher Field in the women’s game-Devon St. Louis (Bangor High) scored an unassisted game winning goal in the 77th minute in leading Husson to a 1-0 NAC win over VSU-Johnson. Madison Weigler stopped the one shot she saw to pickup the shutout in net. The Eagles (5-3-1, 2-0-1 in conference play) will host UMPI in more NAC action next Saturday.

In the men’s game- Husson used seven different goal scorers and capped off the weekend sweep with an 8-3 win over VSU-Johnson. Rique Mendes had the eventual game winner with a PK goal in the 37th minute, and also added a second tally later in the contest. Beckett Parkin (Bangor High), Jakob Reichle, and Jorge Mora each had one goal and one assist. Jamie Barr and Garret Jordan split the time in net for the Eagles. Husson is now 3-5-3 and 3-0 in the NAC. They’ll host Bates in non-conference action on Tuesday night, before hosting UMPI in league play next Saturday.
