Diggs, Stevenson, Maye help lead the Patriots to late win on the road in Buffalo

The New England Patriots went into Highmark Stadium Sunday night and defeated the last unbeaten team left in the league the Buffalo Bills 23-20. Drake Maye made several big plays, finishing 22-30 passing for 273 yards. The second year quarterback was huge in the clutch going 6-6 in the final period for 90 yards and helping to orchestrate the final drive. Rookie Andres Borregales hit a 52-yard field goal to provide the difference with 20 seconds left to play in regulation. Former Bills wide receiver Stephon Diggs in his return to Buffalo had a big night for the Pats with 10 catches for 146 yards. Diggs is the first Patriot since Julian Edelman in 2019 to record back to back 100-yard receiving performances within a season. Rhamondre Stevenson after a first half fumble bounced back with a pair of touchdown runs over the final 30 minutes. Marcus Jones also had an interception for New England, and Robert Spillane made eight total tackles (five solo).

This is the first loss for Buffalo (4-1) at home in the regular season since 2023. New England is now just one game out in the AFC East and improved to 3-2. The next four games for the Patriots are road games at New Orleans and Tennessee, and home matchups with Cleveland and Atlanta in Weeks 8 and 9.
