Bruins beat the Capitals in the season opener

Elias Lindholm scored a game winning powerplay goal in the third period on Wednesday night, as the Boston Bruins opened their 2025-26 season with a 3-1 victory over the Washington Capitals at Capital One Arena in Washington, DC.

David Pastrnak also scored in the first period for Boston, and assisted on the game winner by Lindholm. Morgan Geekie added an empty net goal with 58 seconds left. Jeremy Swayman made 35 saves. The Bruins play their home opener vs Chicago on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
