Maine Division III football results/stats for Saturday, October 18th

It was a good Saturday in the Division III football ranks for Maine teams. Husson picked up their first conference win, while Colby and Bowdoin had upset wins on the road in NESCAC action. Bates lost a close one at home to Williams. Here are the results/some stats-

Conference of New England:

New England College 0 at Husson 48

*Elijah Garnett had 173 yards rushing and two touchdowns, while quarterback Max Clark tossed two touchdown passes for the Eagles (2-4, 1-2 CNE). The Pilgrims (0-6, 0-3) were held to 66 total yards on 47 plays.

NESCAC:

Colby 13 at Amherst 9

*The Mules (3-3) were outgained in total yardage 387-96 and outnumbered on first downs 21-7, but a blocked punt return of three yards for a touchdown by Corey Aubuchon in the third quarter was the difference. Christian Moore had 10 catches for 114 yards and a TD for the Mammoths (4-2).

Williams 37 at Bates 30

*Jon Oris had 198 yards rushing, including a game winning 92-yard touchdown scamper in the fourth quarter as the Ephs (5-1) held on for the road win. Jack Perry had 288 yards passing with three TDs and two interceptions for the Bobcats (2-4). Ryan Gleason had four receptions for 99 yards and two scores.

Bowdoin 25 at Wesleyan 17

*Cole Daignault caught a 12-yard game winning touchdown pass from Soren Hummel in the third quarter, as the Polar Bears (1-5) won their first game of the season. Hummel had 211 yards passing and three TD tosses, while Michael Wolfendale reeled in four receptions for 117 yards and a score. Matt Fitzsimons had 320 yards passing with two TDs and two interceptions in the loss for the Cardinals (4-2).
