Maine Mariners shutout Worcester in season opener

The Maine Mariners opened their 2025-26 ECHL season on Saturday night at the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts with a 5-0 win over the Worcester Railers.

Brooklyn Kalmikov scored the game winner 17:55 into the second period on the powerplay for the Mariners. Xander Lamppa, Jacob Perreault, Tristan Thompson, and Maxim Andreev added third period goals. Luke Cavallin, in his Maine debut in net, stopped all 26 shots by the Railers to earn the shutout. The Mariners play their home opener on Sunday afternoon, October 19th at 3 p.m. vs the Reading Royals at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland.
