State of Maine Division III Football results for Saturday, October 25th

Here are the Maine Division III football results/some stats from Saturday, October 25th. The University of New England beat Husson for a second straight year in the lobster trap rivalry game, while Colby climbed over .500 in the NESCAC with a close home win over Hamilton College-

Conference of New England:

Maine Maritime Academy 10 at New England College 14

*Aidan McDonald had the game winning 8-yard touchdown run with 3:22 left in the fourth quarter, as the New England College Pilgrims (1-6, 1-3 CNE) earned their first varsity win since returning this year after a 51-year hiatus (last recorded varsity victory was 1950). Auston Harris had a 98-yard TD run in the loss for Maine Maritime Academy (0-7, 0-4).

Husson 28 at University of New England 38- Fifth Annual Lobster Trap Rivalry Game

*Quarterback Chris Lang scored on a 1-yard sneak in the third quarter that ended up as the game winner, as UNE (6-1, 3-1) took the lobster trap for a second straight year. Max Clark (Bangor High) was the offensive leader in the loss for Husson (2-5, 1-3) throwing for 389 yards (30 for 49) with three touchdowns and one interception. Jacob Lenz had 10 catches for 139 yards and a score.

 

NESCAC:

Bates 16 at Middlebury 34

*Connor McClellan had a game winning 9-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter, as Middlebury (3-4) took the home victory over the visiting Bobcats. Jeff Vidou had three receptions for 115 yards, and Jack Perry had a touchdown throw to Matthew Holmes in the loss for Bates (2-5).

Hamilton College 10 at Colby 17

*Antone Moreis had a go ahead 15-yard touchdown run late in the second quarter, as Colby (4-3) held off Hamilton College. Patrick Miller also rushed for 119 yards. Luke Kurzum had a scoring run for the Continentals (1-6).

Trinity College 45 at Bowdoin 3

*Trinity College (6-1) opened up a 28-3 halftime lead and rolled to the win over Bowdoin College. The Bantams scored three touchdowns on the ground, led by Josh Woodford who had 88 yards rushing and one score. Soren Hummel had 137 yards passing, and Noah DiRenzo had seven total tackles (six solo) on defense for the Polar Bears (1-6).
