Maine Maritime Academy rallies past Husson women’s soccer in the NAC semifinals and advances to the conference championship game

Hadley Stoddard scored a game winning goal in the 61st minute on Saturday evening, as Maine Maritime Academy women’s soccer advanced to the North Atlantic Conference Championship game with a come from behind 3-2 victory over Husson in a semifinal playoff match played at Boucher Field in Bangor.

Addi Laslie (Ellsworth High) staked Husson to a 2-0 lead with goals at 41 seconds and 11:52, but Maine Maritime Academy rallied back with three unanswered. Stoddard got the Mariners on the board in the 20th minute, before Delaney Innis tied it with just over 30 minutes left to play. The winner by Stoddard in the 62nd minute was assisted by Isabella Da Silva. Hailey Tarbox (Sanford) and Devon St. Louis (Bangor) each had an assist in the loss for #2 Husson. Madison Weigler made one save, as the Eagles end their season with a record of 11-6-2. Isa Thesing stopped three shots for #3 Maine Maritime Academy (12-6-1), who will play on the road again when they visit top seed Lesley University in the NAC Championship game next Saturday, November 8th at 1 p.m. Lesley defeated UMaine-Farmington 4-0 in Saturday’s other semifinal.
