Husson field hockey beats Goucher College to win Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship

The Husson field hockey team closed out their 2025 season on a high note on Saturday. The Eagles took down Goucher College 4-1 to win the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship at Beldon Field in Baltimore, Maryland.

Averi Baker (Hall-Dale) and Faith Tillotson (Thornton Academy) got the Eagles going with goals 20 seconds apart in the first quarter at 12:05 and 12:25, with the tally by Tillotson being the eventual game winner. Addie Twitchell (Leavitt) had a goal in the second, while Tillotson scored her second right at the end of the third period. Angelena Holmes had the lone goal for Goucher College. Tillotson had two goals and one assist, while Baker had one goal and two assists for Husson. Maddie Perkins (Winthrop) chipped in with two assists. Ella Duchette (Brunswick) made four saves in net. The Eagles, who also won the Central Maine Collegiate Field Hockey Conference Championship over Thomas College last week, ends the season on a three game win streak finishing at 9-7.

The Eastern College Athletic Conference has 220 member institutions across Division I, Division II, and Division III that compete in 15 sports (13 men’s, 12 women’s). The ECAC sponsors high-rate competitions, championships, bowl games, tournaments, and exhibitions.
