Connor Heald had a game-high 22 points on Saturday afternoon, to lead Husson men’s basketball to a 70-60 victory over UMaine-Presque Isle in the Eagles home conference opener in Bangor.
Gil Matondo added 19 points and seven rebounds for Husson, while Eric Ahlers also got into double figures with 10 points, eight rebounds, and three assists. The Eagles are now 4-2 and 3-0 in the North Atlantic Conference. Akhe McMichael filled up the stat sheet for UMPI in leading four players in double figures with 16 points, six rebounds, five assists, three steals, and two blocked shots. The Owls fall to 2-7 and 1-2 in conference play.
