The Bangor Christian Patriots outscored Penobscot Valley (PVHS) 19-7 in the third quarter, and went on to defeat the Howlers 50-40 on Tuesday night at the Cross Insurance Center.
Annie Allen put in 10 points, while Mary Allen had six in the third quarter Patriots surge.
The game was even at halftime as Mary Allen had 16 first half points for Bangor Christian, while Lila Cummings had 10 points and nine rebounds in the first 16 minutes for the Howlers.
Mary Allen led all scorers with 22 points (4 three-pointers). She also had five rebounds, five steals, and four assists. Annie Allen added 17 points and three rebounds. Reese Starbird and Maris Kowalski each pulled down five rebounds for the Patriots. Kowalski also had three steals. Mary Allen was named Dirigo Nutrition player of the game. Bangor Christian (4-0) will host Hodgdon on Saturday afternoon.
Cummings led the way for the Howlers with 16 points, 17 rebounds, and five steals. Brooklynn Raymond had eight points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Abby Farley and Rylee Moulton added six points each. PVHS (1-1) will host Penquis tonight.
