Desiree Adams dominated on both sides of the ball to lead the Dexter girls basketball team to a 61-26 win over Stearns at Guilford on Tuesday night.
Dexter jumped out to a 15-4 lead after the first quarter, as Ella McClintock-Hatch (6) and Adams (4) combined to put in 10 points. The Tigers maintained an 11 point (24-13) lead heading into halftime. The Tigers turned up the defense in the third quarter allowing only one field goal to put the game away.
Adams recorded 20 points, nine steals, eight rebounds, and two assists. McClintock had 11 points and six steals. Maddisyn Davis put in two 3-pointers for six points. Annabelle Peakes added five points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Breelyn Gaw had five points and two assists. Kaitlyn Cookson and Hannah Derosier chipped in with four points each. Adams was named Pine State Nutrition player of the game. Dexter (3-2) will be at George Stevens on Saturday afternoon.
Mariah Frost had 11 points, three rebounds, and two steals to lead the Minutemen. Ava Pelkey added six points, while Quinn Cullen chipped in with four. Stearns (1-3) will host Penquis on Monday.
