Gaw leads PCHS boys basketball to a win over Dexter

Brady Gaw scored 13 points in each of the first two quarters to help PCHS jump out to a 35-25 halftime lead over Dexter. Gaw would finish with 35 points, 10 rebounds, four steals, and three assists to power the Pirates to a 58-52 win in Guilford on Tuesday night.

The Pirates outscored Dexter 20-11 in the second quarter as PCHS had four different scorers in the period. Gaw did it all for PCHS, but it was two freshmen who came through at just the right time. Nate Beckwith and Kaleb Hammac each went 2-2 from the free throw line late in the game to seal the victory.

Chase Lander had eight points, five rebounds, and three assists for the Pirates. Beckwith added six points and four rebounds. Hammac put in four points, Noah Kain contributed three points and six rebounds, while Finn Goulette chipped in with two points and six rebounds. PCHS (4-2) will next play on Tuesday, December 30th at Central.

Bryce Cooper shined for the Tigers, recording 22 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, three steals, and two blocks. Isiah Robinson had 16 points, five rebounds, and three steals. Kody Kimball added 11 points and three assists, while JJ Cobb and Ryan Farnsworth chipped in with two points and one point respectively. Dexter (1-6) will next play on Tuesday, December 30th when they travel to Penquis.
