Husson women’s basketball rallies past VSU Lyndon to earn seventh conference win

Husson ended the third quarter on a 24-7 run on Sunday afternoon, and earned a come from behind 69-60 North Atlantic Conference women’s basketball win over Vermont State University-Lyndon in Lyndonville, Vermont.

Lily Roy (Wisdom) had a game-high 23 points (10-19 FG, 2-5 three-pointers) to lead the Eagles while adding three rebounds and two steals. Saige Evans (Old Town) notched a double double with 19 points, 12 rebounds, three steals, and two assists. Laela Martinez (2-3 three-pointers) also got into double figures with 12 points, seven assists, six rebounds, and four steals. Skylar Begay led the Hornets (9-6, 4-4 NAC) with 19 points, while Nei’Shae Clegg had 16 points and 10 rebounds. Husson improves to 8-5 and 7-2 in league play and will host Colby in non-conference on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
