MCI rallies for girls basketball win at Central

MCI outscored Central 14-5 in the fourth quarter as the Huskies grabbed a 28-24 girls basketball win on Friday night in Corinth.

MCI held an 11-6 advantage at halftime. Central outscored the Huskies 13-3 in the third quarter to take a 19-14 lead heading into the final period.

Daphne Hands (6) and Bella Barkac-Girroir (4) combined for 10 fourth quarter points to lead the way for MCI. Hands scored a game-high nine points and had five rebounds. Barkoc-Girroir had five points, four steals, and three rebounds. Caitlyn Hamilton only had two points but filled up the stat sheet with nine rebounds, three steals, two assists, and one block. Hands was named Dirigo Nutrition player of the game. MCI (2-8) will host Winslow on Tuesday.

Madelynn Frost led the Red Devils with seven points, four rebounds, and two steals. Madison Moody added five points, eight rebounds, and three steals. Shiloh Graham came off the bench to get four points and eight rebounds. Central (3-7) will be at George Stevens on Wednesday.
