Husson men’s and women’s basketball sweep NAC home games over Lesley University

Husson basketball swept Lesley University in Bangor at Newman Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon, January 17 in North Atlantic Conference play.

Men’s: Husson 113, Lesley 96. The Eagles scored 69 points in the second half, a day after putting up 71 in the second half on Friday evening in a win over Thomas. Gil Matondo 26 points, 14 rebounds, three assists. Eric Ahlers 22 points, 11 rebounds, three assists. Andre McCauley 21 points and six rebounds. Ty Henke 16 points. Christian Smith 14 points, nine rebounds, five assists, two steals. Husson has won six in a row improving to 11-5 and 10-1 in the NAC. Next game is a non-conference matchup at Colby on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Women’s: Husson 69, Lesley 49. The Eagles built a 30 point halftime lead in cruising to their ninth conference win. Lily Roy (Wisdom) 16 points, four rebounds, two assists, one steal. Saige Evans (Old Town) 16 points, 14 rebounds, three blocked shots (sixth straight game with a double double). Abby Radel (Ellsworth) 10 points, four assists, four steals, three rebounds. Husson is now 10-6 and 9-2 in the NAC. Next game is in non-conference on Tuesday at 7 p.m. when they host nationally ranked #8 Bowdoin.
