Ashland pulls away from Deer Isle-Stonington in a Class S girls quarterfinal

BANGOR- The Ashland Hornets held the Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners scoreless in the second quarter on Tuesday night, and would pull away for a 27-16 Class S girls basketball quarterfinal win at the Cross Insurance Center.

Sadie Trams led #5 Ashland with 10 points. Trams was named the Pine State Nutrition player of the game. Addison Labelle added six points, nine steals, and four rebounds. Angel Hafford also chipped in five points and four rebounds. The Hornets (11-8) advance to the semifinals at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday and will meet the winner of #1 Wisdom/#8 Easton. Marley Jones had five points, four rebounds, and four steals for Deer Isle-Stonington. Gabriella Jones and Mallory Heanssler also put in four points each, as the #4 Mariners end their season at 10-9.
