Washington Academy overcame an eight point deficit after three quarters on Tuesday evening, and would rally for a 52-42 Class C boys quarterfinal win over Foxcroft Academy at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.
Luis Rosa was huge in the fourth quarter, putting in 11 of his team-high 13 points as the Raiders outscored the Ponies 23-5 in the final eight minutes. Parker Cates also put in six of his 11 points in the fourth. Carter Wannemacher would chip in nine points, and Noah Faulkingham had eight as Washington Academy advanced to play top seeded Caribou in the semifinals on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. Lucas Sands led Foxcroft Academy with 19 points and eight rebounds, while Lennon McAfee put in 17 points.
