Easton rallies past Jonesport-Beals to capture the Class S North boys regional title

Raiden Cochran led a balanced scoring attack for Easton on Saturday as they defeated Jonesport-Beals 58-42 in the Class S North boys basketball regional championship game at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

Easton trailed 29-21 in the third quarter, and ended the game on a run of 37-13. Cochran had 16 points, Mason Pelletier added 11 with five rebounds, while Jamie MacKay put in 10 and also grabbed five rebounds. Ashton Burbee and Josiah Ellis both contributed eight points. Ellis also had five assists and three steals. It is the first regional title since 2016 for Easton. The Bears (15-6) will take on South Champion Valley (19-2) in the Class S state championship game at the Augusta Civic Center next Saturday 2/28 at 12:45 p.m. Anderson Alley led the Royals with 15 points, while Koben Robinson had 10 as Jonesport-Beals ends their season as the runner-up with a record of 13-8.
