Ava Lerman had 21 points on Saturday morning in helping to lead Wisdom to a 41-26 win over Katahdin in the Class S North girls basketball regional championship game played at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.
Lerman had 14 of her points in the second half and also added five steals, three rebounds, and two assists. Madi Cyr contributed seven points and Peyton Roy had six, while both also grabbed six rebounds. Wisdom (20-1) captures their first regional title since 1998, and will now face South Champion Valley (20-1) in the state championship game at the Augusta Civic Center next Saturday, 2/28 at 11:05 a.m. Ayanna Lester had 13 points and five rebounds for Katahdin, as the Cougars finish as the runner-up with a record of 18-3.
