CMCC, SMCC, and UMA teams to represent Maine and the YSCC in USCAA National Basketball Tournament

The USCAA announced the field and the schedule on Tuesday for the upcoming Division II Basketball National Tournament to be held in Buffalo, New York March 2-7. The Central Maine Community College women, Southern Maine Community College men, and the University of Maine-Augusta men’s and women’s teams are all in the field to take a shot at a national championship.

The CMCC women’s team, who won their ninth straight YSCC league title, is the overall #1 seed. The UMA women, who was runner-up in the YSCC, earned the #2 spot. The SMCC men, who rallied from a 16 point second half deficit to win the YSCC championship over UMA, got a #3 seed. The Moose men as an at large got in at #7. Tuesday, March 3 MEN’S
#7 UMA (19-13) vs #10 Andrews University (14-14)- 12:15 p.m.

Wednesday, March 4
#3 SMCC (23-6) vs #6 Miami-Hamilton (11-10)- 10:30 p.m.

Wednesday, March 4 WOMEN’S (two different locations)

#1 CMCC (26-1) vs #8 Penn St. Dubois (16-7)- 6 p.m.

#2 UMA (20-6) vs #7 Christendom (10-6)- 6 p.m.
