Central Maine Community College women’s basketball rolls to their fourth USCAA Division II National Title

Central Maine Community College put 14 players on the scoresheet on Saturday evening, and got out to a 24-2 lead after one quarter in rolling to the USCAA Division II Women’s Basketball National Championship Title with a 74-46 victory over Miami-Hamilton in Buffalo, New York.

Anais Balla Zambo and Brianna Dwyer led the way with 11 points each for the Mustangs. Ava Smith added 10 points, Caitlyn McCoy had nine, Josie Friend eight, and Hunter Hartsgrove six points. Smith had 10 rebounds, Dwyer hauled in eight, and Friend had seven. Eight other players had at least one point. CMCC had 58 rebounds, in outrebounding Miami-Hamilton by 17 and 14 on the offensive glass. Beri Ngwa and Taj Pewitt had 16 and 15 points respectively for the Harriers, as Hamilton ends their season with a record of 15-8. Central Maine Community College, who went 29-1 on the year, was playing in their seventh national championship game and now bringing home their fourth title with their last coming in 2022.
