Husson softball stays hot in Florida

The Husson University softball team outscored their opponents 24-2 on Tuesday to win two games at Leesburg, Florida, as the Eagles improved to 5-2 on the season. 

The Eagles pounded out 15 hits in a 17-1 five inning win over Mitchell. Olivia Smith, Sarah Bragg, Nicole Andrade, and Jen Jones had two hits each. Jones and Tamara Aunchman each hit a home run. Smith had four RBI, while Bragg scored three runs. Jones earned the win in the circle. She fired a complete game two hitter, striking out nine.

Husson used a five run second inning to grab a 7-1 win over Pittsburgh-Greensburg in the Eagles second game of the day. Chloe Gorey had two hits, including a home run. Brianna Bires had two hits, and three RBI, including a triple. Casey Lopes also had two hits, including a double. Alannah Healy earned the victory with a complete game effort, allowing six hits, one walk, and one unearned run. Healy struck out six.

Husson has won four straight. The Eagles will play Haverford at 8 AM on Wednesday morning.
