Eduardo Rodriguez setting himself up to start season as number 3 pitcher in Sox rotation

Eduardo Rodriguez threw four scoreless innings for the Boston Red Sox in a spring training game against the Houston Astros on Friday afternoon. 

Rodriguez allowed two hits and two walks, while striking out six. He has put himself in great position to open the season as the number three starter for the Red Sox.

The 2016 American League Cy young award winner Rick Porcello will start opening day, while Chris Sale will pitch game two for the Red Sox. David Price will open the season on the disabled. 

So far this spring, Rodriguez has allowed three runs in 13 innings. He has allowed nine hits and three walks. Rodriguez has struck out 13.

The Red Sox fell 6-2 to the Astros as Joe Kelly and Noe Ramirez struggled out of the bullpen.
