Chris Sale pitched six strong innings in a spring training game for the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night.
Sale allowed two runs on four hits and no walks in a 4-2 win over the New York Yankees at Tampa. He struck out 10. The only runs Sale gave up came on a two run homer from Matt Holiday in the sixth inning.
Sam Travis and Marco Hernandez continued their hot spring. Both had two hits. Hernandez is hitting .422, while Travis is hitting .351 this spring training.
Joe Kelly, Matt Barnes, and Robby Scott each pitched a scoreless inning of relief for the Red Sox.
