The Husson University Eagles softball team shutout the University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) in a doubleheader at Alfond diamond on Sunday afternoon.
The Eagles won the first game 9-0 as they pounded out 14 hits to support Jen Jones in her complete game six hitter in the circle. Jones struck out 11 and didn’t issue a walk.
Courtney McIntyre fired a complete game two hitter in leading Husson to a 7-0 win over UMPI in game two. McIntyre didn’t issue a walk and struck out three.
In game one, Tamara Aunchman had three hits and two RBI, including two doubles. Kylie Kennedy had two hits and three RBI. Casey Heath had two hits from the number nine spot in the order. McIntyre had two RBI.
In game two, Morgan Coleman and Briana Brochu led the offensive attack with three hits each. Nicole Andrade and Brianna Bires had two hits each.
