Boston Red Sox lineup 4/10/17: Bogaerts still out

April 10, 2017

The Boston Red Sox will play the finale of their four game series at Detroit this afternoon. A top notch pitching matchup is on tap with Chris Sale on the hill for the Sox and Justin Verlander for the Tigers.

Xander Bogaerts was expected back from bereavement leave, but the shortstop is still out. That means Marco Hernandez is back in there. Hernandez had three hits in the 7-5 Red Sox win on Sunday. Jackie Bradley JR is getting his knee checked out in Boston. At this point, the Red Sox believe Bradley will not need a disabled list stint. Pablo Sandoval gets the start at DH, while Brock Holt is the 3B. Below is the full lineup. Game time is scheduled for 1:10 PM on NESN and the Red Sox radio network.

  • Dustin Pedroia 2B,
  • Andrew Benintendi CF
  • Mookie Betts RF
  • Mitch Moreland 1B
  • Pablo Sandoval DH
  • Chris Young LF
  • Brock Holt 3B
  • Sandy León C
  • Marco Hernandez SS
