Tigers edge Red Sox in series finale: Sox place Bradley JR on disabled list

The Detroit Tigers defeated the Boston Red Sox 2-1 in a matchup that lived up to the hype on Monday afternoon at Detroit. 

Chris Sale allowed two runs on five hits and one walk, while striking out 10 in 7.2 innings. Mitch Moreland had three of the four Red Sox hits. Moreland went 8-15 in the four game series. 

Justin Verlander allowed only one run in seven innings for the Tigers. Ian Kinsler hit a home run to even the score in the seventh inning. Nick Castellanos got the go ahead hit in the eighth inning. 

After the game, the Red Sox placed Jackie Bradley JR on the 10 day DL the Red Sox will start a two game series against the Orioles at Fenway Park on Tuesday night.
