Sale dominates and Betts provides big hit in Red Sox win over Jays

Chris Sale turned in another dominant performance and Mookie Betts ripped a three run double in the 10th inning to give the Boston Red Sox a 4-1 at Toronto on Thursday afternoon.

Sale pitched eight shutout innings, allowing four hits and one walk, while striking out 13. Sale threw 102 pitches/80 strikes.  Sale now has an ERA of 0.91 in his first four appearances for the Red Sox.

With the game scoreless, Mitch Moreland ripped a double with two outs in the ninth inning. Xander Bogaerts singled home Moreland to give the Red Sox a 1-0 lead.

With a one run lead, Craig Kimbrel came into the game to try and close it out.  Kendrys Morales ripped a solo home run off of Kimbrel to send the game into extra innings.

Sandy Leon walked, Brock Holt singled, and Andrew Benintendi walked to set up the dramatics from Betts. A double to left field scored pinch runner Marco Hernandez, Holt, and Benintendi. Kimbrel struck out two in the bottom of the 10th to close out the victory.
