Per NFL reports, New England cornerback Malcolm Butler returned to Foxboro this week to participate in optional off season workouts.
Butler, who is now slated to make 3.91 million for the 2017-18 season with New England, was talking with the New Orleans Saints in hopes to find a max contract. Talks seem to break down when the Saints selected Ohio State cornerback Marshon Lattimore with the 11th pick in last weeks NFL draft.
Butler will return to the free agency market come March, but for now he is locked in as a Patriot beside talented free agent signing Stephon Gilmore.
