Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 248 past athlete of the week winners. This week, we had eight Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Griffin Guerrette averaged 29.3 points to lead Presque Isle to a 3-0 week. It is the second straight athlete of the week honor for Guerrette. He edged out Bryce Gilbert (PCHS) and Matt Fleming (Bangor).

Griffin Guerrette- Presque Isle- basketball – scored 29 points in 71-51 win over Houlton. Put in 20 points in 64-39 win over Old Town. Scored 39 points in 76-65 win over Foxcroft.
Runner up
Bryce Gilbert- PCHS – basketball- recorded 21 points, seven assists, and four rebounds in 61-57 win over Mattanawcook. Recorded 31 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, and five steals in 64-59 loss to Greenville. Recorded 26 points, nine assists, six rebounds, and three steals in 70-38 win over Searsport.

Matt Fleming- Bangor- basketball – scored 45 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in 66-64 win over Windham.
Damyan True- PCHS – basketball- scored 21 points (7-8 FT) and pulled down 11 rebounds in 61-57 win over Mattanawcook.
Tyson Gray- Bucksport- basketball – recorded 25 points and eight rebounds in 66-44 win over Deer Isle-Stonington. Recorded 17 points, 13 rebounds, and three steals in 45-41 win over Dexter.
Hyatt Smith – Foxcroft – basketball- scored 31 points in 66-50 win over Caribou.
Kobe Rogerson- Brewer- basketball- scored 27 points in 69-58 win over Gardiner.
Kyle Case- Washington Academy- basketball- recorded 24 points (4-4 3 pointers), six assists, and two steals in 63-44 win over Old Town. Recorded 22 points, five assists, two steals, one block, and hit game tying, and game winning shots in 56-55 overtime win over Waterville.
